What works are protected by Copyright ?

According to article L-112-1: "The provisions of this code protect the rights of authors in all works of the mind, whatever their type, form and expression, merit or purpose"; copyright covers concrete creations, not ideas; in effect, copyright protects the form in which the work is expressed, in other words, its expression, its composition. Thus, the following can be protected: books, conferences, choreographic works, circus tricks, cinematographic works, photographic works, musical compositions, plans, drawings, architectural works, collages, software etc..…; To be protected, the work must be original, in other words bear the mark of the person who created it.
